WASHINGTON, Jan 1. — When George W. Bush goes back to work on Tuesday, the president-elect will have three major Cabinet positions left to fill — and soon he will have a contentious Congress to face as well.
Bush spent most of the New Year's weekend at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, returning today to the governor's mansion in Austin — even though he has resigned as chief executive of the state. He was working on Cabinet appointments, aides said.Bush has said he would completely stock his Cabinet by the end of this week, and the next announcement is expected Tuesday. With less than three weeks left until his inauguration, he has three major Cabinet posts left to fill: energy, labor, and transportation
